Fun in the tub

Montanna has so much fun playing in the bathtub that it is hard to get her out sometimes. She used to be pretty afraid of the water, but now she is learning how to roll around and lay down and have fun without inhaling a mouthful of water. Here are some pictures of her being goofy in the tub.

P.S. My baby book for Montanna is packed away in a box in Frank and Hillary's garage and so I need to write down that she has got a new tooth up on top, this makes 5 teeth total, and has started standing on her own for short periods of time. She is too scared take a step yet, but I know she will be walking soon enough. I love watching her little crawl right now. She is getting fast!

Making Jam

I had to make jam the other day since I looked in our freezer and all of a sudden we were down to 1 jar. I knew that was completely unacceptable to my husband and I better make some before we completely ran out. I would have loved to make more raspberry, but when I went to Costco to get some fresh fruit, there were strawberries and blackberries on sale and so I made a batch of strawberry-blackberry jam. Here are some pics of the process and I decided to post the recipe so I don't have to keep calling my mother-in-law every time I go to make it.

Cooked Berry Jam

8 cups of berries (mashed)
4 cups of sugar
(Bring to a boil for 5 minutes)
add
2 more cups of sugar
(Bring to a boil for 2 minutes)

Pour into a casserole pan and allow to cool for several hours. Scoop into jars and freeze.

I know there is so much sugar in this jam, but I guess that is what makes it so good.

It's summer here!

It has been around 100 degrees and hotter here the last few weeks and so that means it is swimming season. Montanna isn't quite sure what to think of the water, but in these pictures she is chilling out in her tube enjoying the sun and water. I think by the end of the summer she will be a pro!

Waffles with Strawberry Jam

I had to post this on here because Montanna has started fake coughing. She totally does it to get my attention because I am always wondering 4if she is choking and I need to help her. She loves it when I run over to her and ask her if she is alright.
She is eating her first waffle with butter and strawberry jam and she ate the entire thing minus about 3 bites. She loved it!
