Watch and learn

What do you think Montanna sees Britney do when she gets on the computer?

Dora the Explorer

I honestly don't know what it is about the show Dora the Explorer that Montanna loves so much. Seriously, I haven't seen her get so excited over anything as much as that show..... over and over and over again. I have videos of her dancing and squealing as soon as she hears the opening theme song and she has started saying, "backpack!" and "map!" every time they say it on the show. Every episode is set up the same way. There are always 3 different stops along the way and they always need to use a map to get to their final destination. I wish I was smart enough to think of such a simple show that would be so popular with the kids. What a money maker! Here is a picture of her sitting at Adam's computer watching an episode while we were making Thanksgiving dinner. Is it normal for an 18 month old to be able to sit still and watch a full 30 minute show?

Playing outside!

We love going outside and playing in the snow, especially when it is nice enough to go out without all the snow clothes. Montanna loves making footprints in the fresh snow and crunching ice under her feet. Here are some fun pictures of her playing on Thanksgiving Day.

Christmas Dress

I love these pictures for 2 reasons.....
1. Look how precious she looks!!! I love the Christmas Tree in the background and the little babydoll in her arms. What priceless pictures.

2. You would never believe how much I paid for this dress that originally cost $48!!! After 50% off at the store and another 8% taken off at the register and $10 Kohls Cash, I was able to purchase this dress and the matching babydoll dress for a grand total of $7.31! What a steal!
PS: The coat is one that I bought last year in an after Christmas sale at the Children's Place. It was $40 and I bought it for $15. I love finding great deals!

Future texter

Montanna LOVES gadgets. These gadgets include phones, computers, remotes, basically anything with buttons. She gets them and just starts pushing the buttons and loves to see what happens when she does. She has started the dishwasher, turned off the TV in the middle of a movie, made it difficult to type a blog post because she wants to practice typing, etc. That has to be what happens when you grow up around so much technology. Maybe she will grow up to be a computer whiz! :)

Thanksgiving 2009

Here are some pictures of our Thanksgiving this year. We had so much fun making pies and as you can see, Montanna got in on the fun too! It was such a nice day even though there was snow on the ground and Adam, Montanna and I went for a walk before dinner. We walked about 3 miles and felt a little bit better about what we ate later that day. Just a little though. There was so much good food and we enjoyed every bit of it. The day after Thanksgiving we went and got a Christmas Tree and decorated the house for Christmas. We had fun making a cookie train and danced to Christmas music. It was such a fun holiday!

Mr. Caterpillar

Montanna found a new Colorado friend. She really wanted to squish it in her hand or stomp on it, but we made her hold it instead. Hopefully she won't continue to want to smash all creepy crawlies. She stomps on them and then laughs like it is so funny. I don't quite know what to think.....

Mommy's little helper

Yesterday was bread baking day. Montanna got up on the stool and helped me make the bread. She had some fun playing with some of the dough and watching the whole process. It is so much fun having a little kitchen helper!

Taking a look in the bowl where the bread used to be.

Snow Angel

Here is a picture of Montanna the snow angel. We went outside with all of our snow gear on for the first time this season. She was even wearing snowpants! She loves being able to be outside in the fresh crisp..... well, cold air!

Big Sister!

We just found out that this little girl is going to have a baby SISTER! We are so excited to have another little girl in the house and we think Montanna will be such a good big sister to this new little girl! We are looking forward to March!

Outside today! Brrrrr!

Adam shoveling snow out of the driveway. It is cold outside. It's really been a while since we have experienced this kind of weather, but it still feels good to go outside and feel the fresh air.
The snow on the ground. It's supposed to be back in the 50's tomorrow and Friday, so the snow will probably all melt away. It's just giving us a preview of what is to come!

What we've been up to........

Super Saturday! Britney and I made these Princess Tiara's for Darby and Montanna and decided to try them on and see how we looked. We look just like Royalty, don't you think?

Grandpa and Montanna reading a story after church on Sunday.

Montanna running from bedtime. She doesn't want to go to sleep here... I guess there are too many fun people to play with. Adam and I aren't as much fun as Gran, Grandpa and Aunt Britney.

Ready for our daily walk. Even when it gets a little cold, we love to go walking. There is a little bunny that waits by the mailbox for us. We saw it 3 days last week and now Montanna looks for it everytime and chants, "Hop, Hop, Hop" all the way down the driveway. We are staying busy and enjoying our new surroundings.

Saying Prayers

I just had to post this picture of my adorable little girl saying family prayer. She is getting better at folding her arms and bowing her head all by herself. We'll have to work on the no singing rule as well as keeping our eyes closed. :)

Gardening

In between conference sessions on Saturday we went outside and picked some carrots from the garden so we could can them. Montanna had fun helping and again loved being outside.

Garden of the Gods - Colorado

We made it to Colorado on Monday Sept. 28th. It was a long drive especially for Montanna. Montanna rode in the moving truck with Adam and I followed behind in the Jetta. We were all glad that the long trip was finally over and we could get unpacked and settled for a little while. We took a couple days and got unpacked and on Friday we met Brett and Corrine in Colorado Springs and walked around The Garden of the Gods Park. It was so pretty and the weather was fresh and perfect. It felt so good to breathe in some cool crisp air.

March, march, march march march....... Montanna loves to walk and she loves to chant march while she walks. We are happy to be in Colorado and love to spend time outside!

15 Months Old

Montanna just got back from her 15 month check up. The appointment was at 8:00 and so getting this little girl to wake up this morning was a little bit of a struggle. She loves her sleep! She weighed in at 20 lbs 8 oz. which is still in the 10%. I guess I have been letting her drink too much water? She has become a little bit more picky about what she eats, but is still eating a wide variety of food. The doctor suggested letting her have some juice and more milk. Hopefully I'll get it all figured out sooner or later. She did gain about a pound since last time, so at least she is gaining and not losing! She was in the 70% for her height at 31 inches! She received her MMR, Hib, and Flu shot so she is set for another couple months. She was such a brave girl and got her shots in her arms for the first time. She cried while she got the shots, but was fine as soon as it was all over. What a brave little trooper!

Grandma and Bapa visit AZ

Montanna and Grandma swinging Baby

Bapa and Montanna

Grandma and Montanna

This is how much of the weekend was spent. Grandma and Bapa just loved playing with Montanna and making her laugh. After she was finished swinging, she would lay down on the floor and say..."PLeeee" (please) for more.
New words for Montanna this week are:
"Than Tooo" - Thank you
"Laaa joo" - Love you
"Bree Bree" - Britney (yes, Brit, I've been practicing with her!)
She is getting to have quite the vocabulary and is able to repeat almost any word you say to her. There are a couple consonants she hasn't wuite figured out yet, but she is doing such a good job!
