Pedialyte Popsicles

Thank goodness for Pedialyte Popsicles! After a week of Montanna being sick, she is finally getting better and much thanks goes to those wonder pops. After enduring a couple days of a fever of 103 and having the flu, my baby needed some fluids and the only thing she was able to keep down were those popsicles. My mom says that she thinks this is one of the best inventions since I was little and I agree with her. Montanna loved them and it made me feel better knowing that she wasn't getting dehydrated. I am so glad I have been able to hear her talk and laugh again these past few days. Being sick does make you really grateful for the days when everyone is feeling good and normal and happy.

Sleepy Sick Baby

Last night Montanna woke up at about 11:00 which is a little unusual for her. She has been a really good sleeper from the very beginning. It didn't seem like she was going to go back to sleep and so I went into her room and picked her up so I could bring her back into my room and rock her back to sleep. She felt so warm! I knew she was getting a cold since she had been coughing a little bit all day, but now she had a fever. I took her temperature and it was 102! This was Montanna's first fever and I was a little bit nervous. I gave her some baby tylenol and put her back to bed and she slept until 5:45 when Adam woke up and went to check on her and we gave her another round of baby tylenol and she slept until about 8:45 when I woke her up to go to the doctor's office. Thank goodness they could squeeze me in. It seems like she is trying to sleep it off because she has been sleeping so much this week. Last week I couldn't get her to take a nap for the life of me and now it is all she wants to do. This is what she looked like when I went to go check on her just a minute ago. What a sweet baby! Get better soon so I don't have to worry so
much about you this weekend!

Three years ago today Adam and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was such an amazing day that I will never forget. I remember being so excited that I couldn't sleep the night before. I woke up before everyone else and started getting ready. I did my hair almost completely by myself, I had my friend Alisha put on the finishing touches. I felt like I knew how my hair and makeup looked best and I didn't want to risk going somewhere and having them do my hair and makeup, and then hate my pictures and how I looked later. I ended up loving my hair, makeup and how I looked. In fact, there is nothing I would have changed about this day. It was absolutely perfect. Once I was ready, I waited for everyone else to be ready and we took off to the Lion House where we had our wedding breakfast.
The wedding breakfast was so fun. I was able to meet everyone in Adam's family and now, finally, three years later, I can look at our pictures and finally name almost everyone in the pictures. It was a bit overwhelming as Adam has a very large extended family. I was able to see some of my family and friends that I hadn't seen in a while and it was a great celebration. I actually ate some of the breakfast even though my nerves were a little on edge and I remember that what I ate was delicious.

Then Adam and I and our escorts left a little bit early to get down to the temple and get ready for the sealing. I had been through the temple the day before and so I was just getting ready for the sealing. I had never been to a temple sealing before, obviously, and so I had no idea what to expect. I dressed in my beautiful, but very uncomfortable wedding dress and got ready to meet Adam. We were married in February and so there was not a huge number of weddings planned for this particular day, but nonetheless, they were running a bit late. We found out later the reason for them running late was our temple sealer. He was an adorable little man who was very kind, but also had a lot to say. Our sealing was probably an hour long and I remember looking around and seeing at least 3 people dosing off during the sealing. He went through the entire life of Christ from birth until death. He even had his book of notes there with him. It was interesting and as I had never been to a temple sealing, I thought this was how it went. I remember trying to listen, but also watching everyone around me and then trying not to faint because I was getting so hot in all of my layers of clothing with the heat on in the temple. I was grateful when it was time to get up and be sealed for time and all eternity to the man that I love more than anything else in this world. I remember that part so clearly and I remember looking into his eyes and knowing that we could handle anything together.

I loved being able to hug and thank each person who shared this special event with us as they were leaving the room. I had such a feeling of peace, excitement and pure joy. Then the pictures began. I LOVE pictures and out of everything that was planned, I wanted to make sure we had really good pictures so I could look back and remember everything about the day in greater detail. I love the way our pictures turned out. It was cold outside and it was snowing a little bit, but that was okay because our pictures were pretty because of the snowflakes in the pictures. It made it look like a wonderland. We took pictures for about 2-2 1/2 hours and then we went back into the temple to change back into our clothes. I loved my dress and loved the way I looked in it, but by that time, I was so uncomfortable, I just wanted to get out of that dress and into something that didn't squeeze me so tight. I would have been happy with sweats, but I changed into my dress and went back to the hotel to meet Adam.

We checked into the Grand American Hotel in Salt Lake City and our room was beautiful. There was a Chocolate Swan and berries and roses waiting for us. That hotel is amazing and I would highly recommend staying there is you ever have a chance. Everything about it is elegant. After a night of relaxation, we got on the plane to Canada where we spent the next week at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. It was so beautiful and peaceful. I think it fit both of our personalities very well. We just wanted to go somewhere cold and secluded. After a week of vacation, we flew back to Montana where we had our wedding reception and then came back to life here in Phoenix.

Life with you has been amazing, Adam. I am excited to celebrate with you this weekend. I love you more now that I did when we got married and I know my love is just going to grow as time goes on. I am glad you are the person I get to be with for the rest of eternity.

Cookie Monster

This morning after Montanna had been awake for a little while, I took her downstairs to play with her toys in the living room while I checked something on the computer. I was gone for about 10 minutes, but could still hear her in the living room playing and I knew she was fine. It's as soon as I don't hear anything, that I start getting a little nervous. I finished up and went downstairs to see how she was doing and I saw her sitting in a pile of Vanilla Wafers with cookies in each hand and cookie crumbs all over her face. She was loving it! I had given her a Vanilla Wafer for the first time this last weekend and she must have remembered how much she liked it because she went right for the box. Ready to swim!

I love to dress Montanna in red and so when I found this swimsuit and sun hat set I had to get it. I know when summer comes we will be spending a lot of time in the pool. Aunt Britney gave Montanna a ladybug bathrobe for Christmas that we will use as a swim suit cover-up. Now I just need to find some red sandals and she is set. Even though I don't really like that it is already 80+ degrees outside, I am looking forward to swimming and watching to see what Montanna does when she gets int the pool. She loves her baths right now and so I am sure we will have a hard time keeping her from the water.

My little piano player

Montanna loves to sit on my lap and play the piano when I am getting ready to teach a piano or voice lesson. Today I sat her on the bench and she played all by herself. She loved it! I hope she wants to learn how to play the piano someday. Well, I know she will learn to play the piano someday, I just hope she likes it as much then as she does now.

Standing

Stand, stand, stand! That is all Montanna wants to do now. She does not want to sit or lay on the floor and play with toys, she wants to be standing next to something and play with whatever is in front of her. She likes to pretend she is drummer and slap her hands on the coffee table, or couch. She gets really excited that she can be all by herself that it makes it even more fun. She has tumbled a few times, but nothing major. I am amazed at how lightly she falls. She just kind of rolls back and looks at me to lift her back up into the standing position. She can pull herself up to a standing position when she is in her crib now because she can grab right onto the railing and get a good grip. She can't pull herself anywhere else yet. I'm sure she will be able to soon.

Cup

Montanna can now drink from her cup!!!! She doesn't just use it as a teething toy, she actually drinks from it and she gets really excited to take a drink while she is eating. Sometimes I even have to hide it so she can't see it so she will take a bite. New foods tried this week: peas, oatmeal, multi grain baby cereal, and blueberries. Yum.

Box from Grandma and Grandpa

Last week we received a box in the male from Grandma and Grandpa. The clothes and blankets were adorable and I am excited to see Montanna in another little outfit that was once mine. My mom sent my Easter coat and bonnet. It looks like it will be the perfect size for Montanna in a couple months. But.... Montanna was much more excited about the box that everything came in. Thanks to a great sale at The Children's Place in the Arizona Mills Mall, I found a great deal on a Christmas Coat for Montanna for next year. I know it's a little too early to be thinking about Christmas since I just packed up my remaining Christmas decorations from this year last week, but this coat was too cute to pass up. I can't wait to see her in it. Now I just have to remember it's there.
