Once there was a Snowman

Here are some pictures of Montanna's first snowman. The short stumpy one is from a day where the snow wouldn't pack and was too cold. Plus, Montanna didn't like that the snow was so deep she couldn't really walk. It actually kind of made her scared and she wanted to go inside. The second snowman is from the following day when it was a little bit warmer. Montanna played outside while I made the snowman, but then loved to admire it from the inside. I would have taken her picture with it, but we had to rush inside because Eden was starving. :)

Every time Montanna looks at or is telling someone about her snowman she starts singing, "tall, tall, tall" from the song, "Once there was a Snowman" I know I have said this before, but she loves to sing and her repertoire of songs is becoming larger and larger. She is so fun!

Daddy doesn't like us to take very many pictures so here is one of the few I have so far. Hopefully I can talk him into a few more later today. :) He loves his little girls and dotes on both on a regular basis. He is such a strength and help to me right now and an amazing dad.

Eden is 3 weeks old today! She went in for a check up on Friday when she was 19 days old. The doctor says she is gaining weight just like she should and was as healthy as could be. She is such a beautiful baby just like her sister Montanna.

Here are her stats from the doctor's office:

weight: 7 lbs 5.5 oz - 20%
height: 20 1/4 in. - 45%
head: 13 3/4 - 25%

She had to do her last newborn screen where they pricked her heel, but that was no big deal for her. She took it so well. No shots until next visit which is May 7th. I hate those shots and so I was so glad she didn't have to have them yet since she is still so tiny.

Easiest Peanut Butter Cookies ever!

Today was the birthday of one of the ladies I visit teach and I decided to quickly whip up a batch of cookies to bring her with a card and another gift from the Relief Society. I ended up getting this recipe out of Montanna's book, "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie".

2 c. peanut butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs

Mix ingredients together and roll into small balls. Make a criss cross design with a fork and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. This recipe made about 50 small/medium sized cookies. They were delicious. So.... next time you need something quick, try this recipe. Most likely you will have all the ingredients at home. :)

Hair Milestone

Montanna's hair is finally long enough to put up in a ponytail! She is getting so big! I got her dressed for church this morning and she said, "I show BriBri I look so pretty" and she ran upstairs and played with her hair and said, "so pretty". Then Britney showed her how to twirl in her dress. She continued to twirl until she was getting dizzy and almost fell down. She is talking so much and know how to sing so many songs. Her favorites right now are the "ABC song", "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", Ring around the Rosy", "What a Wonderful World", Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam", Once the was a Snowman", and "Popcorn Popping". We love hearing her sing.

Another Eden update

Eden is 2 weeks old today! That time has gone by fast and slow at the same time. Is that even possible? She really does fit well into our little family. Montanna loves her little sister and is wanting to hold her for longer periods of time. When Eden starts to cry, Montanna will stroke her head and say "it's alright" over and over to let her know that she is fine. She also tells her that she is "nice" and loves to point out her hair, cheeks, chin, and other body parts. We are adjusting rather well.
Eden still sleeps the majority of the day and night and you wouldn't think I would be as exhausted as I am since she is sleeping most of the time, but I haven't got into the right routine yet. Montanna and Eden seem to be on opposite schedules as far as their naps are concerned. So that means short or no nap for me on most days. I have loved and appreciated the extra help I have had here and honestly don't know how I could have done it on my own, at least these first couple weeks.
Eden sleeps pretty well during the night and wakes up to eat about twice a night. I usually feed her at about 9:30 and then she will wake up at about 12:30 or 1:00 and again anywhere from 3:00 to 5:30. She is already a good night sleeper and will eat and go right back to sleep most of the time. We have been really lucky that way since Montanna was the same way.
We love our girls and will continue to take lots of pictures and keep you updated on our lives here in Colorado.
