Montanna and her 2nd Birthday cake or 3rd if you count monkey bread! :)

 Eden and Papa

 Birthday morning with Monkey Bread

A smile for the camera. She took a nose dive down  a paved golf course trail and got a scratch under her nose and on her knees. But she made it through without any other injuries. We saw the fall and are glad she came away with only those scratches and a few bruises.

 Playing in Flathead Lake

It was still pretty cold, but the girls had fun splashing around.

 Exploring

 Papa and Eden

She ended up just sitting in the water anyway.

Walking on the rocks. We had so much fun! How did I not get any pictures of you, Mom? Next time!

Montanna turned 3!

I can't, can't believe Montanna is already 3 years old! She has had a great month of birthdays and was able to spend her "real" birthday in Bigfork with Grandma and Papa. We spent the week up there while Adam was working in NYC and far away. It was  bummer not to have Daddy there fir her birthday, but that just meant that she got another little birthday party and more presents last night. Seriously, she has had so many parties, cakes and ice cream cones and she loves the fire in them and being sung to over and over again.

Montanna has grown up so much this last year,. Physically she is much taller than she was last year as her pants were getting shorter and shorter and the arms of her shirts higher and higher. We love all of the new clothes she was given for her birthday and looks like such a grown up little girl. Her conversations have become more complex and she has started the "why" phase. She asks why for everything. It is goot that she is inquisitive and curious, but sometimes it gets to be a little bit much.
She is an amazing big sister to Eden. She is very protective of her and loves to play with her. I love that they play so well together now. They laugh and giggle and fight and cry, but they love each other so much. She still is a little rough every once in a while, but is learning her boundaries and what is fun for Eden and what isn't.

Montanna loves animals. We have some little border collie puppies here that are about 7 months old and they get so excited when they see Montanna that they tip her over and lick her face. It scares her to death, but she wants to see those puppies all the time. She keeps going back for more and more. A normal little kid would want to stay as far away from those animals as possible, but she just loves them. She must have got that gene from her Dad. I loved animals and growing up on a farm, but not to the extent of Adam and Montanna. I wouldn't be surprised if she did something with animals someday. Although she says she wants to be a doctor when she grows up so she can help people with bad coughs.

Montanna is learning new words and theor meanings every day. Sometimes she gets things a little mixed up, but other times she sounds really intelligent for a little 3 year old. Sge was talking to Adam the other day and said, " Daddy why are you all wet? Adam said, "Because it was raining outside and I forgot my coat." and she said" You look horrendous!"

We have been having a little bit of trouble with Eden and so she has heard the word "constipated" said around our house. When we aren't doing or saying something she likes she will look at us and say," Daddy, you aren't very constipated right now." It has made us laugh a couple times now.

Montanna got a bucket of letters for her birthday and is starting to learn her letters and still loves to read books all the time. She LOVES TV and would watch it all the time if we let her. I have had to limit her time in front of the screen and most days she gets to watch a movie while I am doing something, but I am so glad that we don't have regular tv at our house. I really think it would be a problem. She loved visiting Grandma and Papa though and watching TV at Bull Creek and Aunt Belynda's house.

She loves to be in the kitchen with me and is very good at helping me bake and cook things She likes to dump in whatever needs to go in the mixer and loves to roll out bread or rolls. She often does this when she is playing and will pretend to be baking rolls. I can tell she is going to be a good kitchen helper.

Montanna still needs lots of sleep and is so much happier when she takes a nap and gets some good rest. Eden almost always is the first to wake up from a nap and in the morning. She loves to be outside and explore and her favorite thing to do right now is find poofy dandelions to blow all over the place. She is our amazing little girl who is growing up way too fast. We love her so much and are so glad that she is a part of our family, We don't know what we would do without her.

We love you so much Montanna! Happy 3rd Birthday!

Birthday Month for Montanna

This is just a sneak peek at Montanna's birthday this year. Montanna's birthday isn't until June 23rd but she has some cousins who had birthdays on the 11th and 13th of this month as well and so we had a combined birthday party for the three of them last Saturday. This is the cake I made for Montanna. We had so much fun making it and she loved blowing out the candles. Rowdy had a Thomas the Train cake and she still talks about that as well. I have more pictures of the party that I will post later. I can't believe Montanna is going to be 3 in just a few days! Crazy!

Happy 1st Birthday Eden!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl! I can't believe you are 1 year old. This year has just flown by and gone faster than I ever imagined a year could go. You have been such a blessing and have brought so much happiness into our home that we can't imaging what our lives would be like without our littlest girl. Here are some of the things that I have been thinking about today as I have pondered this last year.

1. I love your smiles. They always make me smile back and put me in a happy mood even if I didn't start off that way.

2. I love your calm nature. Most of the time you are content and happy and have always loved to look at everything around you. I feel like you just want to take in everything in this big new world. Your eyes have always been so big, bright, brown and beautiful. You are very observant in your smart, quiet way.

3. I love your brown hair and brown eyes. Montanna looks so much like your daddy right now with her blonde hair and blue eyes and I loved having a little girl who looks so much like me. You and Montanna still look like sisters even though your coloring is so different.

4. You have been our little screamer since you were about 5 months old. Sometimes you make me think I am going to lose my hearing because you scream so loudly into my ear, but you definitely found a way to let us know how you were feeling at a very young age. You screamed when you were happy, sad, upset, angry, excited. You seemed to have a different cream for each emotion. You have backed off a little bit lately and started to babble and talk a little bit more. We are grateful for that, but will always look back and remember how expressive you were.

5. You haven't been a very adventurous eater. You have been quite picky about the food we put in your mouth and have learned to take out something you don't want in there if you don't like it. If it is something you aren't able to take out and you don't like it, you cry with your mouth open until it just runs out. There is no way we can get you to swallow it if you don't like it. You LOVE oatmeal and yogurt and pretty much any fruit, but you DO NOT like vegetables or meat. On rare occasions we have been able to get you to take a few bites of both. The last few weeks we have been trying to get you to eat more of a variety of foods and you ate some BBQ pork last night and some squash for dinner without too much of a fuss. We decided that you can't live on yogurt and oatmeal, even though you're cute! You do let me know if you like something by saying "Num Num Num" :)

6. You can climb the entire flight of stairs by yourself. You have been able to do this for a while, but I don't let you do it very often because I am either trying to rush to get something upstairs or I just don't think about letting you try. I will make more of a conscious effort to let you explore a little bit more. You fly up the stairs, but are too scared to come down very many yet. I am thinking it would look really scary to me if I was only 2 feet tall!

7.  You have started to point to everything and are very interested in what things are called and where they are located in the house. You say something like, "Eeee" when you want to know what something is. You are going to start saying more and more in the next few months. You have already started getting a little bit frustrated when we don't know what you want.

8. I love how you snuggle. You are such a cuddly baby especially when you are tired. You are super cuddly when you are sick too, but I don't like it then because I am usually to worried about you.

9. I am so glad that you have been really healthy this year. You had your first antibiotic for an ear infection about 3 weeks before your birthday and got Roseola right after that. You were sick with a stomach bug once for about a day, but other than those few things you have been so healthy.

10. You were born with Infantile Scoliosis and grew right out of that. You had a doctor's appointment about three weeks ago and had an x-ray that terrified you, but the doctor gave you a clean bill of health. No more Scoliosis!

11. You love the bath. You splash around, play with the bubbles and the toys and get so excited as soon as you hear the water running. You even love to get out of the bath and laugh and laugh as I put lotion all over you.

12. You want to be right by me all the time. You spent a lot of this past year in the backpack watching me do everything. You were with me while I folded clothes and while I cooked and while we went on walks and played outside, and while I was mopping and sweeping the floors. You have seen the world from the backpack and love it in there.

13. We are excited for you to start walking. We gave you a walker for Christmas and you were scared of it at first, but we just brought it upstairs for you to try on the hardwood floors and you went crazy! You loved and and were all over the place. You will be walking and a few weeks or month and then you really will be all over the place. We chase you around like crazy already.......

14. You love your Grandpa, Gran and Aunt Britney and have been so lucky to live with them this past year. They love to give you hugs and kisses and you love to give them right back. You are a lovey baby.

15. Your daddy loves to throw you up in the air and catch you and watch your face go from so excited and happy to a little bit nervous. You laugh and scream a little bit every time.

16. You start rocking back and forth and smile shyly at us if you are caught soing something you know you shouldn't be doing. You also laugh at me when I say "No" and keep trying it over and over until I have to come get you and distract you with something else. This can't go on much longer.

17. You love beds and pillows and stuffed animals and snuggle with anything soft and squishy.

18. You love to sing especially to the hymns in Sacrament Meeting. You give a loud  "AHHHhhhh" while we sing and everyone looks back at you and smiles at your singing.  The bishop even came down after the meeting last week and told me what a good singer you were. You love music and dancing just like your sister.

19. You are very articulate and have been able to master fine motor skills at a very young age. You were able to pick up cheerios and eat them months and months ago and that was so fun for you to be able to feed yourself especially when you don't like so many of the things I tried to feed you.

20. You are amazing and special and we are so glad that you came to be a part of our family. You are beautiful and fun-loving and such a sweet sister. We love our little girls so much and feel so blessed to be your parents. Happy Birthday Eden!
